places + spaces is a non profit organisation dedicated to the promotion of the performing arts.  
In addition to producing music series, we also launched a music creative development residency
on Cockatoo Island in 2011.   We are working on a children's festival (in the meantime visit our 
partner Arts Rocket for information on whats on).

On Sunday 17 April, 2011 we launched a creative development and 
performance space for contemporary Australian music on Cockatoo Island.

In 2010 we presented a pilot performance series Cockatoo Calling and we

We also presented Linsey Pollak @ the Powerhouse Museum.  Thanks to everyone who
came along to this fantastic show.

In 2010, with the advent of more new venues and pianos on the scene, we decided that
our presenting work and goal of creating more and larger performance opportunities for 
artists in Sydney is well in hand. With our music series and this in mind we took a different tack 
and worked with venues such as Live @ Colbourne Avenue (formerly Eight O'Clock Sharp)
to help them build their audiences.  Currently we are working with SIMA, Sydney 
Improvised Music Association to develop performance and other opportunities for 
musicians.

 

 In 2009 we presented Mark Isaacs Resurgence Band, Judy Bailey's Jazz connection, Compass,   Taikoz, Topology & Karak, Froy Aagre, Misinterprotato, Jeremy Rose Quartet. 

In 2008 we featured James Muller, Kristin Berardi, the  Necks, Elana Stone, The Crusty Suitcase band,                       
Band of 5 Names with Matt McMahon and Phil Slater, Sandy Evans, Bobby Singh & Ben Walsh.
