Take a fresh look at music, throw in a twist of audience friendly atmosphere, focus unashamedly on Sydney’s finest musicians, take a great acoustic and serve it all up in Lounge mode with music @ the factory.

Presenting the finest improvised jazz in styles from traditional trios to gypsy swing to drumming beats, Places and Spaces draws together the crème of Sydney’s finest musicians in an audience friendly venue.

In 2008 we presented James Muller, Kristin Berardi, the Necks, Elana Stone, Band of 5 Names with Matt McMahon and Phil Slater,  Sandy Evans,  Steve Hunter, Bobby Singh and  Ben Walsh. Somewhere in the mix, a little of this and a little of that to ignite- music sparks.

“Integral to our vision is excellence, accessibility, inspiring experiences and a plan to take original music to a wider audience where artists perform and collaborate in an anything-goes atmosphere,” says Artistic Director Joanne Kee

“Today, tastes and soundbites constantly fuse in reaction to our modern society, creating exciting new sounds. Out of this a Sydney sound is taking shape. Join us and hear how special it is..”   Spread the word about the best kept secret in Sydney. Our musician’s talent is awesome. Don’t miss them as they perform their own special styles overlaid with rich cross overs from other places and spaces.

Places + Spaces aims to provide performance opportunities for artists and friendly places for audiences to enjoy and engage with the arts.  Places + spaces is a not for profit incorporated association.  Current program underway is the music @ the factory series and the development of performances for children.
